Tenor Alex Boyer, celebrated for his commanding voice and dramatic portrayals of lyric and spinto tenor roles, is poised for an extraordinary 2025 and 2026. Boyer made a strong Metropolitan Opera debut as Captain Ahab in Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s Moby Dick, with Susan Stempleski at Bachtrack praising his “weighty and beautiful tone” and ‘convincingly conveyed” portrayal of the maniacal captain’s vehemence and anguish.”
During his busy season at the Metropolitan, Boyer covered notable roles including Cavaradossi in Tosca, Florestan in Fidelio, and Tchekalinsky in Pique Dame, while also performing as Third Jew in Salome.
